OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF THE 2023 PROGRAM

THE 2023 PARTICIPATING BANNER LIST IS NOW LIVE

About the Program

The Mesa Hometown Heroes Banner Program is a tribute created for the community to honor fallen service members, veterans, and active-duty service members of the United States Armed Forces. As a community we take pride in recognizing and celebrating their dedication to our country. The banners are displayed on streetlamps in Downtown Mesa during the Memorial Day and Veterans Day holidays. This program is offered by the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the City of Mesa, Downtown Mesa Association and the Program Sponsors.

Applicant Qualifications

The applicant or the service member must be a Mesa resident or work in Mesa.

  • Thank you for your interest in this year’s program. We have closed applications for the season. Look for us to reopen them January, 2024. Please consider subscribing to the Mesa Chamber of Commerce email newsletter to be sure to receive notification when new applications open.

Banner Details

Banners include the service member’s name, branch of service, and photo (if provided). The banner size is approximately 2.5 feet by 4.5 feet (this may vary by placement).

The Banner is Displayed Twice in the Year

The banner is placed on display twice for the year- in May and November. Applicants may not choose the placement of their banner. Banners are typically displayed for 14 days for each display periods. Following the second display (November), the banner will be given to the applicant. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis by the Mesa Veterans Program, a committee of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce.
